About Us
Cycling for Good!
At NGC we believe that we can use our passion for cycling to create positive change and impact our communities for good. We have partnered with Ms Deaf South Africa, Megan Holmes, to create the annual ’NGC Silent Ride’. This ride aims to create awareness of the experiences of deaf and hearing impaired cyclists while raising funds for organisations who provide care for the deaf community. We have partnered with Gender Based Violence Activist, Survivor, & Author – Leyonie Marais and the ’Sisterhood’ NGO to raise funds for organisations providing care for those at risk as well as those who are survivors of GBV.
2021 saw the inaugural NGC 16 Days of Activism Against GBV Challenge which culminated in a special activism and awareness ride in Ennerdale with funds raised, donated to a worthy sanctuary for at risk youth.

Why Choose Us?
01. Being part of us, means you’ll meet loads of new people and form relationships with them, either by cycling with them or even by cycling against them. Some of these people you might not have met if you’d never cycled before or currently cycling they’ll become your firmest friends. We often have socials, after a ride, meaning you’ll have plenty of opportunities to build close friendships with other members.
02. Exercise is a powerful source of stress relief anyway, but it’s especially beneficial when you’re in a great team. Whenever you have anything troubling you, you can use training sessions to exercise and take your mind off things, releasing endorphins which make you happy, as well as giving you a whole host of other health benefits. Reap the full benefits of exercise by making sure to eat healthily.
03.If you’re not into sport, you might be a bit sceptical of this one – but trust me, once you’ve saddled up, it could become a passion for years to come. Life can be stressful, with the pressure of doing your work and meeting deadlines bound to have an impact on your mood. Cycling with the Newgen team allow you to let out this tension with your friends, in a supportive environment. Once you’ve found the right balance between your social life and your academic life, you’ll be able to look back on a memorable and enjoyable life experience.
